Just came across the XR Association, which has as charter:
XRA promotes the responsible development and thoughtful advancement of virtual, augmented and mixed reality.
Which sounds great, but then looking at the executive member list it is Google, Meta, Microsoft and Sony Interactive Entertainment. So probably a nice lobby and PR activity.
They do seem (did not check in depth) to have some interesting content, such as:
- A set of Developers Guides (behind e-mail wall) on Education, Accessibility, Healthcare and more.
- Charting the future of immersive technology webinar on privacy aspects:
On August 13, 2024, the XR Association hosted a virtual webinar diving into these issues and more alongside Brittan Heller, an expert in technology and human rights; Alexandra Givens, President and CEO of the Center for Democracy & Technology; Carrie Valladares, Senior Corporate Counsel at Microsoft; and Jameson Spivack, Senior Policy Analyst of Immersive Technologies at the Future of Privacy Forum. Joan O’Hara, Senior Vice President of Public Policy at the XR Association, moderated the conversation.

- The Immersive Insights podcast, but not updated in 2024 anymore
